Vringo's Video Caller ID App for BlackBerry, Download the Free Beta Today!!
Ronen over at BerryReview posted today about this great little app that plays videos for your Caller-ID. The Vringo Video Caller ID application can currently run on over 300 different handsets, and now they are ready to test the application on BlackBerry devices.
Vringo has been running a BlackBerry beta test for a couple of weeks now, and has had several thousand downloads of the application. So as a special thank you to all the beta testers, they are offering a special gift . Vringo and Marvel Entertainment group (Marvel Comics) have teamed up and are giving away 3 free Marvel Entertainment video ringtones. I took a look at the site and the videos are from the old superhero cartoons from the early 70′s and 80′s. If I am correct and you want to use your own videos as a Caller ID, that can be done on the main vringo website. To get started, all you have to do is follow the instructions below, and keep in mind that the code is only valid until September 29.
This app will only work on the BlackBerry Bold, Tour, and 8900 at this time.
- Go to http://www.vringo.com/ on your PC, and sign-up
- Go to beta.vringo.com on your BlackBerry to Download the beta app.
- Go to http://vringo.marvel.comon your PC, and log in with the phone number and password you signed up with and click on “Have a Promotion Code?” at the very bottom right corner of the screen. (If you’re new to Vringo, click on the link within the registration box.)
- Type in VRINGOHEARTSBETATESTERSand you’ll get 3 free clips of your choice. Pick the ones you want, send them to your phone and then sync your Vringo application to get ‘em!
Keep in mind this is a beta, so there could be a bug here and there. Let us know what you guys think.
