This morning BlackBerryDreamBlog and several other tech sites reported the launch of Google’s new voice-mail service and the fact that Sprint charged a per min call forwarding fee. Well, with  announcement of  Sprint’s long on going fee finding the light day; many Sprint customers discovered that when they used call forwarding, they were charged a .20 per min fee for the feature.

Unfortunately, the new Google voice-mail app requires you to forward your unanswered calls to your Google voice-mail number instead of your wireless carrier’s voice-mail number. As soon as Sprint customers discovered this fee, Sprint was inundated with protests. So in an attempt to make nice, Sprint has found a happy medium.

“Conditional call forwarding for busy calls or calls not answered using the customer’s wireless phone will be free, beginning mid-November. (Standard charges will continue to apply for immediate call forwarding.)3 This change will give Sprint customers the opportunity to access third-party voice services, including the new voicemail feature in Google VoiceTM.”
