A BlackBerry themes allows you to customizes the look and feel of your BlackBerry to fit your own personal style. Unlike other popular smartphones where you can just change the background picture. When you install a  BlackBerry theme onto your device, you change the look of your home page, icons, and some themes even add slightly new features like animation. The great thing is you can have a different BlackBerry everyday to fit your mood with the click of a button. So how do you install these themes?

There are a few things you should know before you install a theme.

1. You need to know exactly what model BlackBerry you are using. You must download the current theme for your model BlackBerry.

2. You need to know what version OS (Operating System) your BlackBerry is running. Some themes will only run a select OS.

• Go to Setting ( On some BlackBerrys) - Options -About : Look for something like v5.0.0.328 (Platform X.X.X.XXX) this number after the v is your OS number.
• Also, go to Messages – Compose- SMS  Text- and in the message area type  myver as one word, lowercase, and hit the spacebar. You should see something like 9530/5.0.0.328 which means 9530 is the model number of a BlackBerry Storm and 5.0.0.328 is the OS that it is running.    

3. Have the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your computer. If you need to remove the theme because of a problem and can’t just delete it. You can use the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to uninstall it. How To Install BlackBerry Themes

There are two steps to installing a new theme on your BlackBerry: first, you need to get the theme onto your BlackBerry, then you need to tell your BlackBerry which theme to use.

Getting Your New BlackBerry Theme Onto Your BlackBerry

There are two ways to get new themes from the Internet onto your BlackBerry:

1) Copy from your PC

First download the new theme to your PC and unzip it if necessary. Plug your Blackberry to your computer, open your Desktop Manager software and select Application Loader. Choose ‘Open’, then ‘Add’. When the dialog box opens up, find the ‘alx’ file associated with the theme you have just downloaded, select it, and click OK.

2) Over The Air (OTA)

To download a theme to your BlackBerry Over-The-Air, simply open the Browser application on your BlackBerry and go to the URL specified by the theme provider. Your BlackBerry will automatically download the theme and install it on your device.

Once your new BlackBerry Theme is installed on your BlackBerry, switching between themes is simple. Open up the ‘Options’ application on your BlackBerry, select ‘Themes’, then choose your new theme from the list. Your new theme will then be active.
