BlackBerry Messenger gets UPDATED to V5.0.0.55: Get the new update!!
That’s right fans, your favorite BlackBerry app just got updated to V5.0.0.55. The only thing you may really notice is a new SMS (Text Messaging ) feature built into the updated BBM app. Now contacts that are in your BlackBerry Messenger list, who send you a text message, will have their own threaded SMS conversation in the “Chats†section of BBM. I’ve been using a beta version of this update for a bit now, and I’ve also noticed a few new icons in my messages folders when using BBM or SMS.
Before you download the updated, if you are using one of the latest version of BBM5.0, be sure you backup your BBM contact list.
Open BlackBerry Messenger: Hit the Menu key > Options > Scroll down to “ Save a copy of your contact list†> click backup > you will then see 3 backup options: Remotely to an email address, Backup to an SDcard, or Backup to device. I recommend you backup to email and Backup to an SDcard if you have one.
