Wondershare Suite Contest: Transfer your favorite DVD Movies & Videos to your BlackBerry and we’re giving away 5 Copies !!!
Think of how great it would be to have some of your favorite movies, concerts, training videos all at your fingertips during long airport layovers, flights, or during road trips to keep you or the kids occupied. Wondershare can help and we’re giving away 5 copies to our readers!!!!
What is Wondershare? Wondershare is a software that runs on your desktop computer and allows you to take your favorite movies or videos and convert them to a format that allows you to play them on your BlackBerry.
I have been using the Wondershare Suite for BlackBerry for about a month and I must say that I was actually impressed with the product. Not only with the quality of the movie playback on my BlackBerry Storm, but the ability to get three movies “Blackhawk Down, Tears of the Sun, and Behind Enemy Lines†on an 8GB MicroSD card. Now here is the kicker, I already had 200 MP3’s, 50 pics, 15 music videos, and 11 Personal videos shot with my BlackBerry Storm and I still have about 4GB of SDcard Memory remaining. Everyone I played the movies for was stunned with the quality of the picture and the sound. Even through the speakers the movie was loud and clear, if you put on a pair of headsets you’ll feel like you’re at the movies.
The Wonderhare BlackBerry Suite offers the following features:
Movie/Video/Chapter selection - Allow you to select any title or chapter to convert.
DVD/Video Conversion – Convert your DVD movies to BlackBerry videos including AVI, 3GP, MP4 and WMV H.264, H.263.
Audio Extraction – Convert DVD audio track to MP3, AAC and WMA for BlackBerry.
Plug-In Subtitles – Let you select the subtitle and audio track, and rip DVD to BlackBerry with the language you prefer.
Batch Conversion – With multithreading and batch process supported, you’ll get the highest conversion speed.
A basic over view of using Wondershare for BlackBerry:
I installed Wondershare on a PC that is still running Windows XP SP3, but according to Wondershare the software is Windows 7 compatible. Installation went pretty smooth, and I choose the My Movies folder in My Documents as the output folder for my converted movies. Once the program was installed, I ran it and selected DVD to BlackBerry Converter.
Step 1: imported video or DVD files
Click the Add button, and the program will let you browse your computer hard drive. Select the the DVD drive, and the software will show you what is available to import. I chose the largest file on the DVD since I assumed it was the full movie, and the rest were movie trailers. You can pre-play your selection in the preview window on the right. Once you select the movie files you want to convert, click OK.
Step 2: Output Settings
After adding video files, you can start to set output settings for each file:
1. Select an output format from the Format drop-down list. You just select a format according to the player which you want to use. I chose the .mp4 format for my videos.

2. Click the Settings button to set encoding settings, including video resolution, frame rate, bit rate and video encoder, audio encoding settings including sample rate, channel, bit rate and audio encoder.
3. Click the Browse button to specify an output folder to save the converted files.
Note 1: If you want to convert all the added files into one format with the same encoding parameters, you can just click the “Apply to All” button.
Note 2: You can check the “Merger into one file” option to convert all the added video files into a single file.
Step 3: Start the conversion
Click the Start button to start the conversion. And you need to do now is wait for the conversion to be finished. The remaining time will be shown on conversion window for your reference.

You can also Trim Movie or Video:
If you just want to convert a clip from a video file, you can select this file and click the Trim icon to capture a clip from it. In the Trim window, you can trim video length either by dragging the Start Time and End Time sliders or by setting the time parameters in each corresponding field.

Crop video to fit the screen size:
Even though I have my conversion set for the BlackBerry Storm, I wanted as much of the movie to fill the screen of my BlackBerry as it could. In the crop option you can view how the movie will basically look on your BlackBerry and make some adjustments. So if the movie has black video sides around its video, you can click the Crop button to open the Crop window and reduce the black video sides. You can specify the video crop area by dragging the crop frame or setting the four crop parameters (Top, Bottom, Left and Right). You will also notice there is a zoom button which you can use to change to full screen.
The movies that turned out the best with most of the screen filled were non-widescreen movies. Widescreen movies will look great but you will have a fair amount of blackness on each side of the movie.
.
Movie Effect
If you want to change the original video effect, you can click the Effect icon to set the video brightness, contrast, saturation, and even audio volume. You can also choose to apply a special effect to your video from the available effects including Gray, Emboss and Negative.
Note: If a converted video has stripe, you can select a Deinterlace mode here and convert the original file again to remove the stripes.

Watermark editing
If you want to get a personalized video by adding some information to it as watermark, you can realize it by adding either text or image information. You are also allowed to resize the added text/image.

Keep in mind the folders where you had Wondershare to output your movie. Once your done, just open BlackBerry Desktop Manager, click on Media, and choose Media Manager, find your movie in the designated file and move your movie to your MicroSD card on your BlackBerry.
