New QuickPull beta available!! Download and see what’s new in the free beta update!

One of the perils of being a BlackBerry owner is that the need for a Battery pull from time to time can be a fact of life. Well the guys over at Steelthorn “the makers of the QuickPull BlackBerry app” is looking for beta testers for their latest update to the QuickPull application.

If your not familiar with this app:

“QuickPull™ conveniently simulates a “battery pull” on your BlackBerry®, freeing up memory! Unlike the red power button on your phone which merely reloads your device, QuickPull actually refreshes the device, freeing memory and increasing performance!”

One of the newly updated features allows for an automated timed battery pull even when your BlackBerry device is locked.

REQUIREMENTS

You must meet the following requirements to use QuickPull beta:

• A BlackBerry device running OS 4.7+. No lower version will work. To check your OS version, go to Options > About menu on your device. Confirmed builds: OS 4.7 or higher.
• No association with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server or other IT Policy.

INSTALL
To install QuickPull beta click on the link below with your BlackBerry web browser.

PERMISSIONS

QuickPull will request certain permissions on first run. To grant these permissions, simply click Menu > Save. If you have an OS 5 build where enhanced security is forced on, you must set additional permissions in order to use QuickPull. You can determine if you have enhanced security forced on if you receive notifications to grant QuickPull “Trusted Application Status” or access to the Internet even though your Firewall is turned off under Options > Security Options > Firewall. Perform the following steps in order to correct this problem:

1. Go to Options > Applications
2. Press Menu > Highlight QuickPull app > “Edit Default Permissions”
3. Set all three categories to “Allow”
4. Menu > Save
5. Do a real battery pull.
