Some of you that beta tested the Beejive Instant Messenger app a few weeks ago discovered a few bugs. Well Beejive has done a big update and released a new version for one and all to try. If you are not already familiar with the app, BeejiveIM is a mobile IM application for BlackBerry handhelds that allows you to use AIM®/iChat®/MobileMe®, MSN®/Windows Live®, Yahoo!®, MySpace, GoogleTalk®, SameTime®, ICQ®, & Jabber all in one application instead of you switching between them on your BlackBerry. Here are some of the fixes and improvements.Bug fixes in this release:

- Fix for the ControlledAccessException that would happen on some 5.0 OSs.
- Temporary fix for the App Error 523 that would occur on the Storm 2.
- Fixed bug with adding / changing buddy’s group.
- Added the ability to specify any email address for push notifications.
- For OS 4.6 & above you no longer need an SD Card to do file transfers.
- Fixed the file browser so file names are no longer cut off.
- Fixed the File Error 1001 issue when trying to send / receive files.
- Fixed exception that occasionally occurred when “End All Chats” was selected.
- Updated alerts, pop-up dialogs, and notifications code.
- Fixed problem with preferences screen on the Pearl Flip.
- Fixed trackwheel issue on older BB models.
- Removed wallpapers for 4.5 OS & below to reduce install size on older models.
- Added linking of Twitter usernames in chat messages.
- Merged the VGA and non-VGA 4.6 OS builds.
- Added non-VGA screen support to the 5.0 OS builds.

This beta is not supported on devices with OS’s below 4.2.1

This is beta software and not a production release. Bugs and defects are to be expected, please report any defects in the BeeJive forum.

Please check your BlackBerry OS version to download the proper version for your BlackBerry.

- Fully delete your current installation of BeejiveIM (including any modules).
- Restart your BlackBerry
- Use the links below to install the beta based on your phone’s OS. To find this go to Options -> About on your BlackBerry
