Skype for BlackBerry upgraded to V1.0.0.6 and new Skype for desktop beta v5.0.
A few months back we reported that Verizon Wireless was the first wireless carrier to allow BlackBerry users to make and receive free Skype calls using Verizon’s 3G network. Currently the service allows Verizon Wireless BlackBerry users to make U.S. Skype to Skype only calls, (you can’t make calls to U.S. phone numbers) and direct international calls to any landline or mobile phone without using any of their wireless minutes. Skype for BlackBerry has been upgraded to v1.0.0.6 from v1.0.0.5, we don’t have a change log to identify what has been changed, but generally having the latest update is always best. 
You might also find it interesting to know that Skpe has also launched a new desktop beta called Skype Beta 5.0 for Windows. The latest offering from Skype adds a new video conferencing feature for up-to 4 users. If you are an existing Skype for BlackBerry user: Just launch the Skype for BlackBerry app on your device, and you should prompted you to do an update. Existing users and new users can also click here to have Skype mobile app sent your BlackBerry via a download link. Verizon Wireless customers can also text “SKYPE†to 2255 to receive the link.
