Apps (or applications) have become the lifeblood of the smartphone craze. It’s annoying when you grab the latest update of an app, install it only to find out that you already have that version of the app after you’ve gone through the trouble of downloading it. Today we are going to show you how to check what version of an app you have on your BlackBerry.

Find your current apps versions by completing the following steps based on your BlackBerry Device Software version.

A) If you are using BlackBerry Device Software version 4.7.1 App Folders-20100530-224322-329and lower

  1. Select Options from your Home screen
  2. Select Advanced Options
  3. Select Applications
  4. All your Applications in the listing accompanied by the application version.

B) If you are using BlackBerry Device Software version 5.0 Appfolder5.0-20100530-224803-527

  1. Select Options from your Home screen
  2. Select Applications
  3. Select Add-on
  4. BlackBerry Messenger will be displayed in the listing accompanied by the application version.
