Rumors of Possible 4G BlackBerry Storm 3 Begin To Come To Light. 1Ghz Processer And More!
Salomondrin over at Salomondrin.net dropped the news last night that RIM maybe working on the successor to Verizon’s BlackBerry Storm 2, currently nick named, The BlackBerry Storm 3. I have to be honest and say that based on the rumored specs of this latest BlackBerry to emerge, this baby is being designed to go flat-out against AT&T’s BlackBerry 9800. With AT&T launching the iPhone 4G and The BlackBerry 9800 Touch Screen Slider. Verizon needs a super BlackBerry of its own to balance its smarphone offering other than Android.
Here are what is rumored as the specs for Verizon’s new Super Berry:
- Storm 3 is being tested, but under very tight access. (Leak Prevention).
- The unit is currently being tested using a Storm2 housing, to make it hard to be identified if the phone is lost, stolen, or photographed.
- Possibly the first BlackBerry with a 1Ghz processor. (Yes that’s screaming fast and powerful on a smartphone.)
- 8 GB of internal memory, and should still support up to 32GB of expanded memory.
- Could launch with 1GB of flash memory. (Hold and run tons of apps without even blinking)
- Storm 3 could be running a new BlackBerry OS designed specifically for that device and maybe exclusive to Verizon.
- Storm 3 Will run super apps, widgets, 3D graphics, and will be highly customizable.
- Could possible launch with a 5 MP camera
- A new redesigned version of SURE-PRESS for even faster response and swipe support.
- The Storm 3 not only could be one of Verizon’s 1st 4G LTE network smartphones, but maybe one of the first 4G BlackBerry devices as well.
Solomon makes a point that the reason why RIM doesn’t want to much info on this new BlackBerry to get out, is because this would confirm that Verizon will be launching their LTE network sometime in the near future. Which could be seen as a breach of proprietary information between RIM and Verizon. Current projection is that we may not see this new BlackBerry until maybe early 2011.

I'm ready for my upgrade but I'm holding out for the Storm 3 or 4…my phone is slowly not being compatiable because of the New Technology and the Ram being limited with all the changes…How can i get my hands on a Blackberry 3 or 4 Now! I know they are test marketing in other Regionals

Storm 3 is still currently in private testing. As it get's closer to launch, you will start to see some beta units appear on ebay and such. Generally this is a bad Idea to buy one of these units because they are expensive and buggy. Thanks for your question.
