Twitter for BlackBerry Now Updated to V1.0.0.45. Send Tweets to BBM, Facebook, and More.
RIM launched the official BlackBerry Twitter app in an open beta a few months ago, to allow users to put the app through its paces. Now RIM has decided that the beta is over and has officially launched BlackBerry Twitter v1.0.0.45 to one and all. As I’ve said before, hard core users may not like the lack of multi-account support, but even with that shortcoming, this Twitter app ingrates into the BlackBerry OS beautifully, and does not seem to slow down the device or cause memory issues. If you are new to the official BlackBerry Twitter app, we’ve provided a list of the original features, what features have been updated, and the link to download the update after the jump.

- New hotkey functionality has been added for lists, find people, etc.

- Compose Messages
- When you want to compose a tweet, just go to compose messages and you will see the Twitter Option. Select the Twitter Option and you can then send a tweet or direct message without opening the twitter app.
- Incoming tweets in Messages folder
- Now when you receive an incoming tweet it will appear in your messages folder.
- Forward a Tweet to your Social Media accounts.
- Now when you are reading a tweet that you want to share, just highlight the tweet, hit menu, and select Sent to. You now have the option to forward the tweet to Twitter, Facebook, Email, Pin to Pin, SMS (Text Message), MMS, BBM Group, or directly to a BlackBerry Messenger Contact.
- Notifications of New Tweets and @Replies/Mentions
- When an @reply/mention is received, the user will be notified with a splat on the BlackBerry home screen ribbon as well as the application icon
