Rumored Release Date Of BlackBerry 9800 Aug 15th, Time To Check Your Contract.
As I’ve stated before, when you begin to see lots of pictures and videos of a device circulating, that generally means that lots of vendors have gotten their hands on the device in order to get ready for it’s launch. According to MobileBeat, during the paidContent Mobile Conference in New York City, the BlackBerry Partners Fund’s John Albright stated that RIM was set to launch a touchscreen slider phone on AT&T’s network on Aug 15th. John made the statement to VentureBeat, parent company of MobileBeat.
Now John did not come out and say the BlackBerry 9800 by name, but if there is another touchscreen slider BlackBerry that is launching on AT&T that’s eluded the entire BlackBerry blogging community, whoever was working on it needs to work for the federal government.
Keep in mind that this is still rumor until we hear it officially from RIM and AT&T. Still it would not hurt for you to check when you’re upgrade eligible or when your contract ends.
