Verizon Testing New Unlimited Plans: Could Make Owning A BlackBerry More affordable?

Verizon Wireless

After taking it on the chin from Sprint for over a year now, Verizon Wireless is apparently testing two types of new unlimited post paid plans to change that. Ever since Sprint launched its $99 Unlimited Everything Plan, Verizon Wireless generally uses a value statement that you’re paying more for network quality and coverage. For users who live in major cities that’s just not enough to justify the cost of $120.00 a month (+ tax) just to have a smartphone. To even up the score Verizon has been testing two new postpaid plans that offer unlimited talk, texting, and data.

Verizon’s first test plan mimics Sprint & T-Mobile’s current Unlimited Everything Plan by offering a $99 Nationwide Unlimited  Talk, Text, and Data plan. Currently Verizon is testing the plans in retail locations in L.A. and San Diego.

A Verizon Wireless spokeswoman described the offering as.. A limited-time promotion available for single lines only that includes calling in the carrier’s national footprint. She said it’s not available for family plans, and includes domestic long distance.only.

Verizon is also said to be testing an unlimited calling to any mobile plan in parts of Texas and Louisiana, but no word on pricing as of yet. If Verizon is on the hunt to launch new wireless plans, they could start making their appearance around the 4th Qtr just in time for the holidays and the launch of the Storm 3.
